I spent the day in Dublin, Ireland yesterday and was captivated (much to the amusement of my cousins who wondered why I kept taking pictures of bikes) by the very cool DublinBikes program.

Essentially it’s ZipCar for bikes. You walk up to the stand, swipe your membership card, the bike automatically unlocks and you’re off. The sweet thing is that you can return the bike to any of the stands around the city, and they’re everywhere.

I saw all sorts of people zipping around on these bikes, running errands, heading to work, etc. Can we have this in NYC? Pretty please?
